A catalyst is a chemical compound that is added into a primary chemical reaction to speed up or increase the

rate of that reaction. It is interesting to note that the Catalyst is not consumed during the reaction and typically

very little of this additive is needed to do its job. The Catalyst changes and mutates during the reaction

but is reformed in its original structure at the conclusion of the reaction.
